A Lizard in the Sun tells the story of a three- year journey I made, starting in Scotland and travelling across Europe, North Africa, The Bahamas, West Indies, and USA. Starting out with very little money, but determined to explore the world, I worked in various jobs including barmaid, nanny, cook, and boat crew, had loads of fun, met lots of interesting people, and had a few scary experiences. I was threatened by a dagger-weilding madman in Tangier; almost lost at sea in the Atlantic Ocean; became very ill in Grenada; got lost in underwater caves in Gibraltar; had a run-in with a barracuda in the Bahamas ... and ... well, you'll have to read the book to find out the rest!
